I'm installing a 100 Watt compact Renogy Panel on top of my RV. I need to run the wire about 10 feet max. What gauge wire should I use for that?
thanks, Jeff

panels usually come with a sort section of 10g wire, I'd use that size to the controller and the same size for the SHORT run to the battery for that size system.
A common practice for panel to controller is to buy wire that has MC4 on each end, say 20', cut it into 2 x 10' and plug into the panel, the bare end than can be wired to the controller.

Actually, all my newest Renogy 100 watt Eclipse panels came with 12AWG wires and MC4 connectors.
BUT, to answer your question, the very BEST thing you can do for actually less money is to buy 20 ft of finely stranded 8AWG cable and a pair of 10/12 to 8 gauge MC4 connectors....Yup, 10/12 to 8 AWG adapter connectors, male and female....They make them just let google help you locate them.
Whenever possible, and as soon in your wire run as possible, always increase wire size as much as possible to reduce voltage losses.
