How do I connect the Renogy E.FLEX5 Monocrystalline Portable Solar Panel with USB Port to my 12v deep cycle camper battery? It is stored in our backyard, and we just want to keep the battery charged over the winter here in the northeast. Not sure what we need to get to connect the two. I don't think we need a controller, since it's only a 5 v solar panel...correct? Thanks for your help!

Don't, 5v is not enough to maintain a 12v battery.

You need to do way more research.....

Okay thanks. It was just an idea...we have a battery tender now, but I was trying to figure an inexpensive way to hook up a solar panel to maintain the battery. I appreciate your advice!

Hello, It is not compatible to connect an E.FLEX (usb terminal and 5v output) and a deep cycle battery (post terminals with 12-14V charging parameters required). If you're looking to maintain a battery you will need a solar panel and a charge controller plus the wiring in between. Please take a look at our learn page for more information in solar basics. www.renogy.com/learn/All the best! -Renogy Team
