Hi, I am currently converting a cargo van into a campervan, and am at the stage where I need to install solar. I am looking at picking up the "Renogy New 200 Watt 12 Volt Solar Premium Kit." Along with "Renogy 1000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger." My question is, which battery, or batteries I should purchase to get the most out of my 2 100W panels. Also, if that Inverter is the right model, or should I get something else. I want to get the most out of these 2 panels, and I can only fit these 2 on the roof. It would only be powering lights, a small electric cooler, a mobile hotspot, and charging some devices. Maybe a TV once and a while for tailgating and the like. Sorry for the ignorance, I just want to make sure that I get the right setup for the $$.

If it was me I would get a 500w inverter that will be large enough and it won't pull as much power when it's on..... I'm running an entire cabin 24/7 off of a 500w...... Now I do have a 2000w when I want to run a table saw or anything large..... You won't need anything that large.... I would get a deep cycle 12v battery or two 6v deep cycle batteries.... The more ah the better...... Anything more than that your panels won't keep them fully charged....
I would stay away from LI batteries because they are so expensive but that's just my opinion.....

One 12v 200ah battery will be plenty of power to run all of that when its charged? Would a 12v and a 6v be too much? Looking to have some power when I'm out of town for more then a day or two.

The problem is how many panels you have..... You need to think about the entire system.... 2 12v or 4 6v batteries would be way better.... But what you need to do is see how much power the things you want to use actually take to run........

Forgo the inverter
400ah of batteries, that's 200ah usable. 200w will return 40-50ah a day!
Let's say you use 50ah a day (have no idea), so you have 4 days of battery with no need for solar, recharge every 4 days with utility power. 200w of solar will only replace daily 50ah usage on very sunny days!

He want's you to have everything running 12v.......... No 120v....... In my opinion most 12v appliances aren't as good or as efficient as 120v.....
But it's your choice.....

what do you have that operates on AC? silly to gather DC from the sun an store it, invert it to AC then plug is a wall wort that coverts it to DC! neither you nor I know you energy requirements so here's a wild ass guess. I'll suggest 2 x 6v golf car batteries hooked into one 12v is the most economical and requires some education on care. That ~200ah+ of battery that needs to be vented to the outside. Cheapies available @sams/costco. 2 x 12v AGM would be a more expensive option @ ~200ah, less maintenance but need to be charged fully. Lifeline brand are hard to beat. An inverter/charger generally have a better charging profile than an automotive portable charger for utility power use. wiring is important, length and size, termination at the end and connections, tools required to make terminations ...

We normally size batteries to be 50% depth of discharge so a 200Ah battery, while it might give you more run time, you might fall short at teh recharging rate UNLESS you find yourself using less than 60Ah a day of usage. If utilizing the Gel or AG we would recommend Gel strictly because it has higher quality and life cycles. -Renogy Team
