well i have the book and the 40 amp charger. dip 5 changes from/to lithuim/lead acid. but how do you switch from lithuim profile one to profile two?

OK, the manual DC to DC charger is not clear at all at how to the set the voltages.
Are the The S1, S2, S3, S4 settings at the bottom of page 20 and top of the page 21 for Lead acid only? Lead acid is only when S5 is off, correct?
When you set S5 = ON for lithium, if you use any value other then s3 = ON and s4 = ON... then settings in s1 and s2 are ignored?
The manual needs to put the S5 switch setting first in the description, then follow with two tables containing S1-S4, first for lead acid and the next for lithium.
Also, if there a way to set a lithium charge voltage of 13.6V? That is nominal charge voltage for 4 series cells at 3.35 per cell and 13V is too low and 14V is too high.

That is correct, S1/S2 are the boost voltage setting for lead acid mode and S3/S4 are the float settings only when S5 is set to ON S5 is set to OFF for lithium mode, when S5 is OFF and S1 and S2 are set to ON, the unit will exit the Type1 lithium charging settings and go to the Type 2 settings, there is actually a discrepancy on the first chart, Type 2 should be for S1/S2 and not for S3/S4. Down below is a screenshot of how it should be, we will have that updated ASAP. I agree that we should add the S5 settings first before the two table containing the lead acid/lithium charging voltages. I will add that into the revision notes. There is no way to set the litihum charging @ 13.6V, only the charging voltages displayed on the chart. -Renogy Team |
