So, I'm just entering into the solar world, and have gotten (2) Costco GC-2 6V batteries wired in series to provide 12V charging through a Renogy Voyager 100W suitecase.
As a test, I removed the batteries from the RV and only have the batteries connected to the charge controller, I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but at night time batteries read 13.0V (fresh from the store), after an hr I see it drop to 12.9V, in the morning time, Voltage dipped to 12.5V, mind you these are brand new batteries purchased, later in the morning the sun comes out and attempts to recharge the batteries but never fully does, for some reason the voyager keeps on charing the batteries when there is 0.0amps of current flow at night, both solar (red) led and battery (blue) led are lit, I'm almost wondering the current is flowing in the opposite direction. I get about 26ah of charge through out the day, but that is not enough to recover the drainage overnight.
What am I missing here? In the morning time the batteries are depleted, I'm confused on why that is. I have to run to costco and replace these because I'm sure these are damaged. This is the 2nd charging controller received from Renogy, I received a polycrystoline suite case that I originally purchased, then i received a mono crystalline panels with same controller, and have the same exact results.

It sounds like it's doing what it should be doing... 12.5 is just fine in the morning..... Mine are at 12.2 and sometimes 12.0 and they are fine.....
I think your over thinking this.....
What do you have as a draw at night???
One thing more..... Are you seeing any 14.? during the day in full sun???

I removed the batteries from the RV and only have the batteries connected to the charge controller, new batteries with NO load. correct? What is the date on the batts, seem like they are sulfated and need to equalized/stirred. I'd be finding a more powerful charge, 100w is like 5A, compared to 200ah battery!
