On our boat we have two 100w panels and a 40a Commander MPPT controller with MT-50 tracer meter. This week we replaced our Trojan batteries with three four-volt Firefly AGM batteries (12v system).
I was able to set our battery charger and engine alternator regulator to the settings provided by Firefly.
However, syncing the solar system to them is another matter. I am confused by some differences in terminology between the Firefly and MT-50 specs.
Settings for the Fireflies are:
High voltage limit - 14.8v Compensation limit- 14.8v Bulk voltage - 14.4v Bulk time - 60 minutes Absorption voltage - 14.3v Absorption time - 60 minutes Float voltage - 13.4v Float time - 6 hours Field threshold (bulk) - 50 percent Field threshold (float) - 50 percent Equalization limit - DISABLE Equalization duration - DISABLE
While the terms above might be oriented more to an engine alternator, in the MT-50's control parameters there is no mention of "compensation" or "bulk" or "absorption," making me think they might be identified differently in the MT-50 manual.
Is bulk charge the same as boost charge? Is high voltage limit above the same as overvoltage disconnect or charge limit in the MT-50 manual? Is there a way to disable equalization or does it matter?
Any help or maybe pointing me to someplace where I can find the answers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The information you want should be in the manual. Read the entire manual, it explains how the system works.
