I understand your frustration. I work long shifts and get home late at night. I will post the detailed photos of my CC connections as requested on my next day off when i get a little time to go out and tinker while the kiddos are napping and my honey-do list is completed. In regards to your inquiry: How have you determined that you drained your battery to 75% initially? Have you tried unplugging the system and connecting it back with modification of the parameters? User vs SLD? If your batteries are sitting comfortably at 12.9, they're technically fully charged. How long does the system stay in the MPPT mode? Have you seen it float shortly after? You seem to have measured the ISC and VOC on the panels correctly so your panels are working fine. The problem might be with the controller. If you have not called technical support already, we would advise that.

Well thanks for your understanding. Unfortunately, I was also reported as being antagonistic by someone else, not quite as understanding. I have been on other forums where periodically, users would come on, pretending to be confused, and present a "weird problem" and the discussion would rage on for days until we discovered he was just messing us around. I apologize if I let those experiences taint my view of what was going on in this thread.

Understood. I am sincerely genuine in my struggle to diagnose and fix this. I love the learning opportunity it presents and enjoy learning from others. thanks for all your help.

Fixed. I reset the CC. Then for sh*ts and giggles, i upgraded all the wiring to 8awg on the internal side, with 6awg from the panels to the CC. then put the whole thing in a nice control console. External switches to control panel and battery disconnects and AC inverter are next. I plan on adding another 100w panel in series and another battery in series or saving up for a Li-ion battery. havent decided. Should make a pretty robust off the grid system regardless. You do know you shouldn't put your CC in a box? Right?
It needs to have air moving around it.....

Note the fan at the bottom to pump fresh air from bottom to top. in the photo, it's laying on top of the inverter, but it's installed at the bottom now. there are vent holes on top that I cut out.

Now that's awesome..... I missed the fan......... So you have a fan running contently off of the solar system?

it's temperature dependent. it runs off the battery with a piezoelectric temp sensor to kick on above 100F

Yup, I agree you've got things quite nicely shaped up. Only thing I would not have done is have exposed AC wires in such close proximity to other components and ground. Maybe you wouldn't touch it, but a mouse might. Just an easy risk factor to fix, IMHO.
Oh, and I love that DIN rail connection block. New to me. I will definitely be adding those to my tool box.

Yeah that’s a good point about the AC. I’d like to cover it up, but the wiring would be difficult to do and it would need another fan to keep it cool. Maybe I’ll wire one of those electric mouse traps to the DIN rail... Next I’m adding a USB charging port and some 12v cigarette lighter plugs to the outside of the housng for quick connections.

I was talking about the outlet near the bottom with the wires poking out. I know with my hands reaching in there, I would be likely to touch them and the grounded case at the same time ...

Oh THOSE wires! Yes. The mounting scared me to, so those are covered with epoxy. They do make ac outlets for media center boxes like this one, but they’re all input AC and dioded to prevent backflow. Hence the jury rigging with a regular ol’ 15a ac outlet
