At the risk of being "reported" again, Damn you were reported? For what? I've never seen you do anything that you should have been reported for............ Now me? LOL
Plus who the hell would you report someone to? I didn't think anyone was watching close enough to care........... LOL
Yes, a few weeks back I got a warning from Admin because someone reported me as antagonistic. My post was definitely harsh. But even the target of my harshness understood why I said what I did, and was very respectful in his reply. But the Admin blasted me, and so I politely responded as to my views about the role of Admin in a forum, and how this forum was poorly run (at the time). I was grateful that he (or she) listened. I get the feeling that things are better now. The Admin is responding more often with good solid helpful advice, and kind of letting us adults handle our little scrapes by ourselves. We usually work it out. It is not the Admin's fault that this Forum is not a real priority for Renogy. I mean they use free software to implement it, do not even have SSL security for the URL and allow all sorts of SPAM posts to filter in. The people that come here are mostly dedicated, good loyal customers, who deserve more respect in my opinion. Ok, off my soapbox. I'll bet you're sorry you asked!  . |

I do not claim to be an expert. Sometimes I post ideas, not even sure if it would be feasible, hoping somebody might come back and say it's idiocy, just like you said in previous post. Or maybe somebody that has tried it might come back and say, yes it works, but not very practical, or ... If someone claims it's idiocy, then I would hope they have some finer detail to present their thoughts about why it would not work. Ok, we disagree, but one thing that I am happy about is that we are engaging in a dialogue and not exchanging personal insults. That is a good thing, and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss it in a civil way. I think that I, and some others, but let me speak only for myself, get annoyed when we perceive that someone is not doing due diligence. There are no "stupid" questions, when they are made in good faith with due diligence. But throwing out an oddball idea in a technical forum that deals with complicated and dangerous materials, without any evidence of research or real thought, or when the answer is available from a simple Google search or in documents posted on this very site, is irresponsible. Again, this is my opinion, not personal. I would say this in any case it happened - not just you. And I would expect you to hold me to the same standard, and I would respect you for it (once the embarrassment wore off ...  ). And for the record, my post called it "nonsence," not idiocy. There is a big difference. Nonsense simply means makes no sense. There is no personal aspect to it at all. It only attacks the idea, not the person. |
