Hello fellow members. My first post here. So I will be retiring soon and have in mind to make a few road trips in my minivan. I will be using a non compressor type fridge ( thermoelectric) , about 50watts draw , and so I am wondering what size solar kit including a battery would suit my needs when I am off the grid . My cooking and heating will be propane and my small electronics will all be usb chargeable. Not planning on any household electric needs. Suggestions please.

I'll suggest that 50w x 24hrs = 1200 watt hrs, for one day of autonomy in the summer, I'd divided that by 4 hrs and get 300w of solar, I'm suggesting on a sunny day you might harvest 1200 wh from 300w of solar! Doubling that would appropriate for rainy days and winter low angle, tripple would be better! You vehicle alternator can be used for some battery charging.
2 x 6v golf car batteries hooked as one big 12v batt would be good for one day with no sun so again double/tripple that!
You'll be better off with a very good cooler and buying ice.

Thanks, I see some coolers that ice will last 5-7 days. That is a good suggestion.
