Hello, this is my first post, so please be gentle
I recently bought a travel trailer to put up (its going to be parked 95% of the time) on a piece of property that I purchased at the end of last year. I am working to go fully off grid, with a Natures Head toilet, Solar and eventually a well (everything seems to cost 4K to get done, so I have to prioritize!).
I'll be purchasing the toilet here in the next week, so that part is nailed down - but I am still shopping out my Solar setup. I have a 3500 watt inverter generator for backup power.
Needs: I want to be able to be comfortable - that means lights, coffee in the morning, LED TV in the evening for the kids or built in radio, standard fridge (has gas and electric, I just don't know the use rate of the gas for that yet) and maybe a small fan or two and the small motor in the natures head toilet. I am not looking to run the AC, but can on my Genny if needed. Chargers for phones and tablets at night.
This is what I am looking at so far:
I was looking at this kit - even though I'll not use the controller that comes with it - because I get too much anxiety when thinking about selecting all the right wires etc. so I figure a kit is the best way to go...
Renogy 400W Eclipse Monocrystalline Solar Panel Premium Kit with 40A Charger Controller
This programmable controller:
40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller +MT50 Monitor+Temp.Sensor Package Tracer 4210AN 100V Solar Panels Power Input Support Lithium Battery Charger Regulator Negative Ground
This inverter:
VertaMax PURE SINE WAVE 3000 Watt (6000W Surge) 12V Power Inverter DC to 115 AC Car, Solar, Off-Grid, RV, Back Up Power
and 2 of these batteries:
Renogy Deep Cycle AGM Battery 12 Volt 100Ah for RV, Solar Marine and Off-grid Applications
Am I on the right track or am I way off?
What else am I not considering? I know there are fuses and shunt as well as cables etc. I am still researching that.
Thanks for any help!
