I'm using a small panel for maintaining my batteries while in storage. I have the 30a Renogy panel and a 20a Renogy Voyager. I need advice on the size of inline fuses I need to install. If i use a 30a inline fuse from the panel to the charge controller, would I use an identical 30a fuse between the batteries and the charge controller? Would a 20a inline fuse (controller to battery) cause problems? I'm using this set up to avoid removing my batteries and plugging them in at home. You don't need any fuses for that small of a system..... But if you did want one a 20a will be just fine... Thank you tattoo. Would the fuse go between the panel and the controller or between the controller and the battery? no fuse is required for the panel to controller with a single panel. The max fuse for controller to battery is based on 30A controller or wire size. 30A for 10g, 20A 12g, 15A 14g. If you panel is 30w I'd skip the fuse. Damn we finally agree on something..... WTG............ Thank you, rabird and tattoo. You've both been helpful to me with this project.
