Hey everyone, my wife and I are planning to convert our ford transit 250 into a home on wheels, but I know next to nothing about solar or energy in general. We are planning to have lights, a full kitchen, and a small 32" television. My question is, how many 100w panels would we need and what size battery would you all recommend? Thanks so much!

Solar isn't that hard it just takes a lot of reading and asking questions.....
That's not really enough information to give you even a close estimate.... You need to go buy a Kill A Watt meter and see how many watts each device is going to be using in watts... And don't leave anything out.... When you figure that out then double it.... That will get you close.... But be sure and get back with us when you figure that out......
The question isn't just what size battery but how many...
Also you need to read, read and read as much as you can on here....
Best of luck...

If you haven't already, swap out any incandescent lights with LED equivalents. You should also plan to run any devices which use a "wall wart" to convert from 120VAC to a lower DC voltage directly on DC rather than through an inverter.
As for panels and batteries...what tattoo said. But please be sure to invest in true deep cycle batteries (like the ones they use on golf carts) rather than the pseudo deep cycle marine batteries you commonly see on the shelves. The former will last longer and are built for what you're planning to do rather than the latter.

I can be a bit overwhelming to start. You can try our system sizer to give you an idea: www.renogy.com/smart-system-sizer/-Renogy Team
