Turns out that the batteries have not been charging, and the panel built into the RV is not giving accurate information on the batteries.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Renogy on whether or not the inverter needs to be on to charge. I've never thought that was the case, but the batteries have not charged in two days of being plugged in. The indicator lights on the top of the inverter say that the charger is in "boost mode" and that shore power is detected.
Would be very helpful if someone from Renogy would respond.
thanks

Do you have a way to charge the batteries with AC house current?
By the way have you checked with a voltmeter to see if any current is coming from the shore power or anything else that's producing power?

Can you check their voltages using a multi-meter? -Renogy Team

To Renogy: I mean I have to flip the inverter/charger to the on position in order to see that 'shore power detected' and boost lights.
To tattoo: I am certain power is coming from shore. I have a circuit inside the RV that runs purely off shore power. Those outlets are live.
