A simple question that I hope I didn't manage to screw anything up on. I was moving along with a build and I installed my 3 solar panels on my roof and left the wiring inside my van. I was not able to get my batteries and charge controller hooked up for a few weeks. I did nothing with the wires for the solar at this time just let them hang in my van.
As they were out in the sun is there any type of issue I might have caused by not having them NOT hooked up to a charge controller for so long? Or will I run into any issue when I do hook them up?
Stupid move on my part I know. w

no harm no foul except your battery is draining itself slowly since it is not being maintained!
Note: charge controller often disconnects panels from controller when the batteries are FULL or near full, that is how they prevent overcharging.

No, you are fine....EXCEPT!, Do Not connect the panels to your charge controllers before you connect the controllers to your batteries....AND take care when you do connect then that you remember you will be working with hot wires.
ALSO, when you connect your panels to the controllers, first make certain the controllers are operating-they will light up off battery power IF all battery side fuses and breakers are good....If they light up, then connect the panels.
Always connect panels last, and disconnect panels first.

Always connect panels last, and disconnect panels first. That's not the case anymore... You can attach a dead Li battery after the panels or before....
Things are a changing...

Sorry, but MANY charge controllers don't agree...nothing to do with the battery....it protects your charge controller.

Sorry, but MANY charge controllers don't agree...nothing to do with the battery....it protects your charge controller. Yes sir I agree with you and I thought the same thing.... But the newer Li CC aren't like the older CC.... And it has everything to do with the battery...
Answer me this and you might understand like I finally did..... If you have a Li battery that is off and 100% zero volts what do you hook up first the panels or the Battery?
But I still think like you for the most part...
