Some say you need a shunt, I don't have one and my system is almost exactly like yours. Mine has been running for almost 3 years with no problems.....
So I guess it's up to you weather you need or want one or not....

The Adventurer comes with the BV Sensor and not the Rover. You would have to connect those to the battery terminals but it would require some splicing and perhaps some wire extension. The Rover is compatible with a remote temperature sensor and that is placed right near the battery for temperature compensation. -Renogy Team

hi rvroadrunner, there are 2 types remote senors that adjust vovltage, one is voltage, when the controller is too far away from the batteries and the wires are too small, does not look like Rover has this option. The other is remote battery temp sensor that measures batt voltage and adjust charge voltage based on temperature. That is described in the manual and should come with the rover 60.

The wires are not needed for the controller to work. the wires go to the battery to measure voltage so the controller can fine tune charging/voltage, polarity is important!!!

yes the rover 60 amp model has Battery voltage compensation wires and connector that plugs in cc but i have no idea where other end of wires connects to According to the Rover 60A Listing: Rover 60 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller 1 x Remote Temperature Sensor 1 x Mounting Brackets 4 x Options: BT-1 Bluetooth Module 1 x Therefore, we conclude that the green part goes on the controller connector and the black sensor goes near the battery. -Renogy Team

Just like I thought it's a temp sensor...... Tape it to the side of one of your batteries...... That's what I did and it works great............

Admin the 60A rover is new and although YOU claim not to send a voltage sensor wires, one can certainly add them cuz the port seems to be there! let's believe the OP that says the other end has "wires" as in 2. Has it been deactivated for Renogy? the "Battery voltage compensation interface"? SRNE 60A

the voltage sense wires are just wires that extend from the controller to battery, 2 wires not 3 as in your first pic.

pic of 3 wire strand is what came with rover 60 also a green block wires connect to on cc side i am just not going to use them cc seems to be working fine without them but the voltage is not accurate
