When I access my Rover 20 using the BT Module and the app on my iPhone, everything links up quickly. I don't want the controller to equalize my batteries so I set the equalize charge time to 0 minutes. I press "set" and the app acknowledges the setting.
If I exit the app or wander out of BT range, when I reconnect with the controller, I have to reset my choices again. It will have forgotten that I set the equalize time to 0 minutes. Why is this? I shouldn't have to enter my parameters several times a day.
Also, what is the temperature compensation value?

Yes. I put in the password and change the USER default 200AH to 210 and then change the Equalize Charge Time to 0. Then I push "Set". It accepts the input and the controller reboots. Everything returns to normal in about 10-15 seconds.
Then I exit the app or leave the area or turn off BT on the phone. When I reconnect with the controller again, even with a minute, it has forgotten the changes I made or at least the app makes me think it has as the AH rating is back to 200 and the Equalize time is back to 60 min.

hi eric, I would not worry about ah or equalize. First there is no evidence that the controller uses ah capacity. Second the short monthly low voltage equalization is minimal and may be beneficiary!
The app is not ready for prime time. If you must you could try and change equalz voltage to the same as boost/bulk of 14.4
Temp compensation is for adjusting voltage due to temperature normally a neg number that increases voltage in cold and reduces it in heat, the app reports it as a positive but does the adjust correct.

I have noticed that if I make changes on the controller, those changes are then seen reliably by the BT module. That is, I changed the equalz voltage to 13.2 using the buttons on the controller and now the BT module correctly shows that value always, at least so far (1 day).
If I log into the admin account, it's 50/50 whether the equalz time or the AH rating is correct. I'd like an update from Renogy as well as more documentation on what changing the temp compensation value will accomplish, but for now, at least I've got a way to tone down the equalization.

I would not change it, the 14.6v equal is not too high as a regular charge voltage, your call! Find the battery makers specs and don't repeatedly undercharge (what most folks do, too low of voltage, not long enough, not enough current ...).
Over time you should see the temp comp adjust charging voltage, in the winter it will be higher and lower in the summer. Chemical reactions are slowed when cooled so added voltage compensates, vise versa.
typical temp compensation -3mv/degree C/2v cell (from 25C)
so a 12v battery is 6 x 2v cell so the above becomes -18mv/C
if the temp is zero C that is -25 degress below 25C so -25 X -18mv = +450mv = .45v
So if it is zero C and you charge voltage is 14.4v then temp comp would make it 14.85v
same adjustment is made to float voltage.

When I am within BT range, the app recognizes the controller. That's good. The app opens on the Monitoring page and after a few seconds, the screen is updated with current info. If you change to the Record page, again, within a few seconds, the page refreshes with the current info.
When you change to the Settings page, nothing happens. The info is not updated to reflect any changes you might have made to customize the settings (I'm using the USER setting) leading me to believe the changes were never accepted by the controller. If you press the read button at the top of the screen, no need to log in, it will read the controller settings and update the app screen and everything will be correct including the Ah rating.
So the issue is part user error and part inconsistency in the way the app operates. If it can poll the controller for the first 2 and 4th page, why can't it do so for the 3rd (Setting) page?

Also- When I enter my battery’s parameters under Settings, the app appears to accept the input- replying with “password correct” and “set successfully” messages. However- I cannot leave that screen- as the 4 items on the bottom of the screen (Monitoring, Record, Settings, Device Info) disappear. the only way out is for me to restart the app. And then- the Battery parameters seem to get re-set to the default 200Ahr setting. I have a 75 AHr flooded battery. Don't know how much of an issue this is. Otherwise- system appears to be functioning. Spoke to technical support at Renogy, and they indicated they are aware of the app issue and have passed it to their app developer. He also noted that while the app defaults back to 200AHr and "user" battery type (custom setting mode), that the Rover has accepted the inputs even though the app isn't displaying them.

I have the same issue with my FLD 80 ahr battery, but, when I click read it remembers the setting (i.e. changes it from the default 200).
This app definitely is nice, but needs some work (I've seen 2 spelling mistakes not that I care, as long as it functions as it should).

I just put my 200 watt solar kit outdoors. The battery is a 125 amp Vmax. 30 amp Wanderer controller. 3000 to 6000 Pure Sine. I connected at about 20 feet and went to the bluetooth controllers manual. I want to change the max charge and minimal amount the battery voltage to change to. I changed the amps to 115 and the battery type to sld and not user. Correct me if I am wrong on that. The manual is the worst at explaining nothing. Should I leave everything else to default other than Battery Type, amps and SLd. I have no idea.
A little help please and where can I get the info I need so as to not pester you guys?
