Is there a way to change the crazy 9 digit password required to access the app? Also I have a heck of a time waking up the bluetooth to connect, I have closed the app (which then requires the password I have to look up each time) then try to add the device (which it doesnt see) and then magically it appears. ya do not need the password to connect. if it does not auto connect, go to device info on the far right and then try 'search device' and then confirm. the password is needed to change settings, not to monitor. ya can't remember 1 3 5 7 9 0 1 2 3 ? all odd then 0123. As mentioned, the password can not be changed for the time being. However, it is needed only to change settings, not to monitor your system. That is done automatically. -Renogy Team

I just set mine up today. I opened the app, clicked on the "Device Info" tab at the bottom right and then clicked on "Search device". It found it right away. I only needed to input the password to customize the parameters.
Yes, it would be nice to be able to change the password but once I set it up I probably won't touch the settings again.

The problem isn't that it's an inconvenience to enter the password, it's that every controller has the same password. If I were a horrible person, I could go to an RV park, activate the app on my phone and run around and change the settings on any Renogy controller the app picks up. Because I already know the password -- it's posted publicly online & every controller has the same password. I could possibly even damage their batteries or controller by changing the system voltage or battery type settings on the controller.
To make the controller secure, we should be able to change the password. The app also shouldn't allow users to read or set data off the controller without first entering the password either.

Thank you for your input. This is part of the next design change, the app is being revamped altogether
