So, I don't know if it uses the same Modbus protocol (I couldn't find anything on that)
However, RS485 is different than RS232 (which is what your other rover uses). To communicate with something that uses RS485, you'll likely need an RS485 to USB adapter and you might have to wire the RX, TX and ground pins manually if the Rover Elite doesn't use a standard pin out (like the other Rover models)
So really, I have no idea, but I'm sure someone will eventually try to figure it out themselves and hopefully when they do they post it here.

The Rover Elite has RS485 communication port while other Rovers have RS232 port. They are not the same. -Renogy Team

Thanks, I understand that the rover elite uses rs485. Is the data protocol (modbus) the same just on 485 vs 232?

Also, question for AdminIf the Rover Elite uses RS485, does this mean that it wouldn't be compatible with the bluetooth module? Is there a solution that Renogy provides that allows you to collect data from it? Are there other products that use the exact same protocol? I ask this because if this is just another product that's rebranded, it would be pretty easy for us to know what type of protocol it uses or if there's something like a MT-5 that can get data from it even if that product isn't from Renogy.

Although the RS485 and RS232 have the same modbus, the port types are different between the one on the Rover Elite and the one used to connect to the BT-1 bluetooth module (RJ45 and RJ12). Because of the different port type sizes, you would not be able to connect the BT-1 bluetooth module with the Rover Elite. However, we will be launching another version of the bluetooth module soon that is compatible with the Rover Elite. -Renogy Team
