Just wondering if the Commander series is being discontinued. I see only the 60 amp model is available at the moment. Cheers.

That is my current setup. Purchased the inverter last night to finish off my little system. It is totally overkill (probably) for what I need. It is going into a little expedition trailer that I am building. It'll run an Engel fridge/freezer, a 12v water pump, lights in tent and mood/flood lighting(led) around the exterior of the trailer, 120v coffee maker, and charging of laptop/phone and camera batteries. I figure by going a little bigger on the core parts of the system it allows me to expand in the future if I end up getting a bigger camp trailer... or a tiny cabin in the woods. Haha Oh, I also have a little NOCO "Genius" G7200 battery charger/tender for shore power maintenance of the batteries.

Cool....That's a good start.....
It's a good thing you have access to an AC charger because it's not large enough to run all that you said your wanting to run.... To run what you said you will need more panels and more batteries if you didn't have access to AC power.... The inverter and CC will be just fine....
By the way what is the ah on the batteries??

225AH each battery. So I should have about 110 useable AH. The little fridge only draws about 0.7amp once it is cold. Draws about 2.5amps starting from ambient until it gets cold. This also depends on ambient temps in general since if it is 90F out the fridge will have to work harder to keep my bacon at 38F. I have camped for 3 days/2 nights with just the fridge on the batteries by themselves and it brought them down to 11.7 volts. That is with no charging going on. The coffee pot will run once per day and certainly isn't a necessity as I have other means of making camp coffee. The 12v water pump would only run when doing dishes or taking showers. It's been a minute since I've looked at the power draw on those.
This is an off grid little camp trailer so the AC charger would only be used at home... or if things go haywire I can connect my AC charger to my truck's built-in inverter and do some charging that way (but I'd like to avoid this).
Eventually I'll switch to LiFePO4 batteries and will size the capacity of them after I have a season of solar camping under my belt. I should also know at that point (or sooner) if I need a second 100W PV panel to get the batteries fully charged. I think switching to LiFePO4 batteries will help with charge rates too (they charge fully faster right?)
I appreciate your feedback tattoo.

Don't forget about the inverter using power.... You might be ok just keep an eye on your batteries and try and not let them get below 11.7 if you can help it for extended period of time...
Have fun camping.......

Cheers. - Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel (New Edition) - Renogy 40 amp Commander CC with MT50 - Renogy 2000 Watt PS Inverter - Interstate "Extreme" 6 volt batteries (x2) The Commander 20 and Commander 40 are not available on our store front anymore. However they should be available on on Amazon or other store portals such as home depot or walmart. The Commander 60 should be available until end of stock and afterwards we will be only featuring the Rover. Any kind of warranties with the Commander will be met with the Rover which has the similar specifications. This will also be the same for the RNG-100D. Once those go out of stock, we will only be featuring our RNG-D-R (New Edition) monocrystalline panels. -Renogy Team

I see the Rover is capable of charging over-discharged lithium batteries, has a built in LCD display and can do Bluetooth to an app (these are solid advantages). Are there other differences between the two that would make one better than the other? I have the Commander 40, which I am sure is going to serve me well once I get my system going. I have educated myself but am still pretty new to the solar details. Thank you!

I have educated myself but am still pretty new to the solar details. Thank you! The Rover and Commander controllers are both MPPT controllers with some slight variations in functions. Both controllers allow for overpowering of the controllers with amp limitations based on the controller type and both have DC load settings directly on the controller front. The Rover comes with an LCD display with parameters for the default AGM, GEL, FLOODED Batteries with (now) default settings for LFP batteries as well as allow for custome battery settings. The Rover features a Bluetooth module accessory for custom parameters and monitoring with a smart phone or laptop. Lastly, the Rover has an aluminum base and thermoplastic polymer face making it a little lighter than the Commander.Additionally it has error-codes letting you know what exactly is at fault on the controller if you were to experience a fault. The Commander though not featuring the Bluetooth module, is paired with am MT-50 for the same battery setting custom parameters as the Rover. It does not have a setting for LFP, but technically you can customize it with the MT-50. It has an all aluminum die-cast design making it a heavier controller. While the commander does not have direct error codes,it had LED lights and a digital face that would let you know if there was a fault in the controller. -Renogy Team
