Last year I purchased (thru amazon) 8 - 100 watt compact panels # RNG-100D-SS, I plan on purchasing 4 more. I have seen two different spec sheets attached to these panels. 1 has Voc - 20 V See pic and the other as listed on your web site has Voc 21.6 and of course all the other values are different other than the frame size. Unfortunately I do not recall the spec sheet that was attached to the panels I purchased and they are mounted on my roof and I do not have access to them right now because they are under snow. What is the Voc of # RNG-100D-SS being currently manufactured and shipped by Renogy and /or Amazon. Also how detrimental would it be if these panels are mismatched and connected together? Is the current model # RNG-100D-SS-BC ?

VOC is 21.6 and is outlined in this specification sheet. We had a slim panel and compact panel with -SS skus so that might explain the mixup. In any case you will not experience issues combining these panels are they are very similar in the performance characteristics. www.renogy.com/content/files/Specifications/RNG-100D-SS%20spec.pdf

The latest shipment from Amazon does NOT seem to match your attached specification (link) and they all seem to have the product code; RNG-!00d-SS. If Renogy made a "slim" and "compact" as you describe I would think there would be a different product code designation(?)

Right now I can buy the so called 100W compact panel from Amazon for $20.00 cheaper than from renogy....X 4 = 80 Bucks extra!! And since this is a new topic of conversation, I am (now) looking at the Renogy 160 W panels, Amazon is offering them for $145 each and renogy price is $220.00. What is up with that? The Renogy products I own have performed within reasonable expectations, I just question there pricing methods, spec changes related to QC(?) Are they like Harbor Freight and "its like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get" because it went to the cheapest overseas manufacture??

Amazon should not have this panel unless it specifically says "slim" panel and not compact panel.

Admin, did you notice the pic that was posted in the in the first post ? It has an "SS (compact) sku" but none of the specs match your website specs for the SS-compact sku....and I promise its not photoshop

The specs for the RNG-100D-SS were updated, the current specs listed on the Renogy website are the correct ones. Amazon may still have older panels with the older labeled specs in stock, which could explain why you received these panels with the different specs from the Renogy website listing. But as mentioned previously, you should not experience issues combining these panels with slightly different specs because they are similar in performance characteristics.

Monopoly or not, something doesn't make sense!?!? Yes, If they are 100% the same and cheaper, I agree buy them from Amazon............... But what I have been reading and talking about is Amazon is selling inferior parts that looks the same kinda but they are not really the same item at a lesser price just to make a sale.............
In the end it's your money spend it as you like...................

Well, if you look at the price per watt on any manufacture's panel, the rule of thumb is (around) $1.00 per watt.....why Renogy wants to charge $220.00 for a 160 watt panel is confusing to me. $145.00 seems more in line. Trust me, I have nothing against Renogy, I have 8-100w Renogy panels and on a sunny day they cruse at 19 Vmp ea. The CC is a Rover 40 and I have not had any issues with it. All were purchased thru A....N BTW, I have read plenty of reviews on AMAZON's site pertaining to the "bait and switch" so I am not disputing your concerns.
