When comparing the Rover 60A controller and the Commander 60A controller, they are very similar. However, the Rover 60A controller is compatible with Lithium batteries and capable of Bluetooth connection while the Commander 60A controller does not have those features. Also, the Commander 60A controller is heavier and larger than the Rover 60A controller. -Renogy Team

Is Renogy discontinuing the Commander 60A ? They are on closeout sale prices at several places and the RNG site shows no info on them anymore except the manual. I bought one recently on Amazon for $214. but am concerned about ongoing support or if there are problems with this model. Has anyone here used the PC software interface with the Commander 60 ? I am about to install mine but still have a return window on Amazon...

Has anyone here used the PC software interface with the Commander 60 ? Why return it? Mine has been working great for over 2 years with no problems.... I think it's way better than the new version......
Have I used the PC software interface? Nope and I don't intend to.......
You know it's funny you ask that, I went and actually looked at my commander for the first time today since Jan the 27th when I looked and it and topped off my batteries with distilled water before the 28th...... When I looked at it today, it was floating and the low and high voltage of the day was 12.4 and 14.8........ Looks like it's doing good to me and that's all the info I really needed............ I guess I'll look at it in a few weeks if I happen to think about it...... LOL
See, I don't see any real need to have all the do dads that people want these days...... But that's just me, If you have time to waste have at it.......
Now with that said I can see if you have an under powered system that you constantly need to check on then an interface might be helpful........ I don't know.......

I had hoped to hear more from anyone using a 60a Commander. It does seem to be a very sturdy unit and I will soon be testing it. I also expect to test the PC interface as I always like to see detailed monitoring feedback & history on what the system is doing.

At least I have seen many.... Most people have several small ones hooked together......
As far as history goes I can look back as far as I wanted on the CC itself..... It just takes time.....

Now I have used both a Rover 30a and a Commander 60a . I like the display on the Rover better as it is positioned better and is more readable, but the Commander is clearly a powerhouse. It sure seems like the Commander is bringimg in more input amps from the same PV than I got with the Rover but hard to prove. I only needed a slight upgrade from the Rover 30 but the closeout deal on the Commander 60 was too good to pass up. Too bad I didn't get to test a Rover 60 too.... lol I will post more after I try the PC connection to the Commander. Attachments:

We have discontinued the Commander controllers, however, we still offer technical support for them and if they have an active warranty. -Renogy Team
