I'll start this thread by thanking the good folks at Renogy for supplying a high quality product and delivering it fast, complete and well packaged.
I am new to the forum and new to solar.
The system that I purchased has been working flawlessly since I installed it and keeps my batteries full no matter what I want to run.
I have been charging them nightly for years and its nice to not have to deal with that anymore.
My question is about the the load terminals on the controller.
What are people using these for?
Any and all suggestions, experiences and warnings would be well received and appreciated.

Personally, the only thing I use the load terminals for are for LED lights. Everything else gets hooked directly to the batteries.

Do they only work when the sun is shining? It seems that if the power is coming from the controller, there would be no power if the panels are not producing.
I have not tested them yet in night mode but my impression is that they would not work after dark.
At this point I am running everything off of the batteries and inverter also but I keep looking at those terminals thinking, ''I have plenty of extra wire''.
I did my install on July 1 and then my wife and I took the van on vacation off grid for their maiden journey.
The system works great.

Hi v10, the load terminals are basically for timed lighting, like on at dusk for so many hrs and/off at dawn.
There is generally some 17 modes to select for various lengths of time on after sunset.
They can be used for small loads but best to just leave em alone!

Thank you for your replies.
Leaving them alone for now sounds like sound advice.
Once I am beyond the point of just pushing buttons and have a better understanding of programming it, I'll add some extra lighting.
In the meantime I will leave it to it's default settings.
