Victron specifies that they prefer 36 cell panels or multiples thereof with their SmartSolar charge controllers. Does anyone have any actual one on one experience with the 32 cell panels that renogy sells and Victron charge controllers? Do they seem to work as they should with the 32 cell panels or is there a reduction in conversion output that you've seen?
BTW, does anyone here ever email Renogy support and receive an answer? I'm not batting a very high average on that...
Thanks folks!

That is so sad as they could have a great business if there management cared more.........
If it wasn't for a few of us helping people there wouldn't be much help here but once a week if your lucky............

"BTW, does anyone here ever email Renogy support and receive an answer? I'm not batting a very high average on that..." Actually, Renogy offers no support of any kind. No email support, phone support, etc. The only thing you can do if you have a problem is send their product back to the vendor. You can post problems here but you will only get useful advice from fellow forum users like ourselves. Unfortunately, Renogy severs their customer relationship the moment money has exchanged hands. I started a thread about it here: renogy.boards.net/thread/480/renogy-offer-useful-tech-support

no experience but the 32 cell should work fine. (unless it is very hot!) These panels have a Voc of 22.9V so heat shouldn't be a real issue. I was wondering if Victron can actually count the cells but upon additional research it's the panel output voltage that is the key here. Thanks for the response, my noobiness is quickly disappearing..at least I think it is I've read all of the raves about Renogy, it surprises me to hear of them having poor support especially since seeming to cater to the solar newcomers.

max power is at Vmp not Voc. in fact a panel operating @ Voc produces NO power. 36 cell might have a Vmp of 18 and may drop to 16 or less in hot conditions.

No email support, phone support, etc. Yes I agree, Over on the old forum it was a running joke when people came there and asked questions directly to Renogy because Renogy was never there, and I mean NEVER there to answer any questions...... Now it's becoming the same way here..... At least they are here once a month...
It's very sad to think that a company like Renogy, that could do so well is so lack of caring about there customers.......

Was this your original question? We do not have this data. However, we have a base of customers who do combine renogy and victron products (charge controller or battery monitor) -Renogy Team

Do you have to have a ticket to get a response to a question?

Do you have to have a ticket to get a response to a question? Renogy has a new ticketing system in play (phone lines) where every time you call in, no matter what the reason, a ticket is created on your behalf. This serves for historical information, order information, discussing information, etc. This eliminates customers having to re-explain their statements to different agents as well as should (now) make it more expedient so we don't have 40min++ wait times anymore. This has been proving to be an upward trend for expediency. -Renogy Team
